How to make a melting moment

My favourite sweet treat to make are melting moments they are a type of biscuits that melt in your mouth. They are really easy to make and taste great. They are especially nice with cream in the middle or dipped in melted chocolate.

You will need

  • 175g of soft butter
  • 100g of icing sugar
  • 175g of plain flour
  • 100g of custard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • a bowl
  • a sieve
  • a greased baking tray
  • a fork

1.Turn the oven on to 180 oC/ 350 oF/ Gas mark 4 (ask an adult to help whenever you use an oven).

2.In a bowl, mix together the butter and icing sugar until the mixture is nice and smooth.

3.Use a sieve to sift the flour, baking powder and custard powder into the bowl . Add a pinch of salt, too

4.Carfully fold the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.

5.Take one teaspoon of the mixture at a time and roll it into a ball.

6.Place them on a greased baking tray and press down on the top of each ball with the prongs of a fork to flatten it a little.

7.Bake in the oven for 15 to 18 minutes/until they are golden.
